St Ives
|
St. Ives is possibly one of the most famous holiday destinations in the UK. With it's history of Fishing and Artists, the town has much to offer, from the many art galleries, including the Tate St. Ives overlooking Porthmeor Beach. Take a boat trip to the nearby Seal Island, spend lazey days on the beach or explore the old streets of downalong, or simply relax in one of the towns many good quality restaurants.
St. Ives has a number of beaches with Porthmeor at the northern end of the town being the largest, it is a popular surfing beach. There are lifeguard services from Spring Bank Holiday to the end of September.

Tate St Ives is undoubtedly Cornwall's best known gallery
|
As well as its tradition of fishing, St. Ives is world famous as an art centre and studios, shops and galleries are everywhere. The Tate St. Ives, part of the Tate Gallery in London, was opened in 1993 and is, perhaps, the flagship of Cornish art.
